A school using very comparative technology and teaching strategies.

This is a very interesting video showing many similarities to the Maize School District. SMART technology is used rather than Promethean, but students are receiving very similar experiences!

Dreher and Lewis

Adam Dreher (5th Grade Teacher) and Teresa Lewis (3rd Grade Teacher) at Maize Central Elementary School in Maize are piloting the Android based Lenovo ThinkPads in their classrooms for the next 3 months. The ThinkPads are about the size of an iPad and quickly connect to the internet. One of the bonuses of the ThinkPads is that they are ready to bring up internet game sites used in class such as Spelling City, Espresso, Envision Math, and Starfall. They also come with a stylus pen and allow them to write in their handwriting with the option of turning their writing to type in different fonts. Dreher and Lewis plan to find android apps as well to use with their students.
