GoogleDocs at MMS
Val Ulbrich, English teacher and Social Studies teacher at Maize Middle School has taken full advantage of the Google Accounts for Maize School District. The Google accounts, which are usually for students age 13 years or older for the public, are being used by students in a protected environment where they can learn online etiquette and utilize Google tools for learning. Mrs. Ulbrich is able to share documents on the cloud with her students and comment on their work virtually. Students can work on their documents from any computer that can reach the internet. As Val and I were going over some of the applications of her GoogleDocs account at 8:00 in the evening, she could see that some of her students were working. She also has the ability to live chat with them as she sees them working. Maize strives to go "paperless" when they can. This is a great way to not only build a portfolio of digital work, but to have access to all of their work without a jump drive.
